Jobs in the Kingdom

According to the data from Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT), the unemployment rate in Saudi Arabia was 5.4% in Q4 2020. This is a decrease from the previous quarter when the unemployment rate was 5.7%. The rate is also lower than the same period in 2019, when it was 5.5%.

The data from GASTAT also shows that the non-oil sectors have been driving job growth in the country. In Q4 2020, the construction sector had the highest growth rate in terms of employment, followed by the wholesale and retail trade sector, and the professional, scientific, and technical activities sector.

The healthcare sector is also expected to continue growing in the coming years, with the government investing heavily in building new hospitals and medical facilities. The education and training sector is also expected to grow as the government is investing in building new schools and universities.

The technology sector is also growing rapidly with increase in startups, digital transformation in various sectors and the government’s initiatives like digital transformation strategy and Misk innovation center.

It’s important to note that the data may change depending on the global economic conditions and the measures taken by the government to tackle the situation.
